Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 1995 12 valve, tach zero, no cruise, no charge, no a/c, runs perfect otherwise

Hello all,



I have a 1995 12 valve with a 115k miles on it and a manual transmission. Coming home from a road trip in Idaho the other day it started acting up in that my tachometer dropped to zero, my cruise kicked off, the alternator stopped charging, the a/c compressor kicked off, and yet the truck ran fine. It did this intermittantly off and on throughout the trip.



I'm sure this has been discussed in the past but I thought I would throw it out there for some feedback. Thanks for any advice you can provide!!

Check the speed sensor on the damper

Yeah, sounds like the crank sensor is either going out, out of adjustment, or there's debris in there.

Also, make sure it is connected. Sometimes the connector comes partially unplugged.

IIRC when the A/C is affected along with tach and the other things you mentioned the Engine Speed sensor is losing it's ground. Try running a seperate ground to it.
