I had 6 new tires put on at Tire Kingdom, they can't balance them after three trys. They claim the wheels are bent, they look fine to me after they spun them up on the machine.

Are these factory steel wheels hard to balance? The original GoodYear RTS tires I just took off had zero vibrations up to 90 mph. I've had no problems before, but this is the first time the original tires have been changed.

Sounds like they (Tire Kingdom) are not real sure of what they are doing. You might want to find another dealer. My bet is the tires have a problem (defect) or that they (Tire Kingdom) screwed up the balancing. I would try another shop. Once you get them balanced up then you might consider a set of these to make them last longer ;)

They have a real nice video demonstration.

When I replaced the tires on my 02 dually, it took me 11 tires to get 6 good ones. I have centramatic balancers on it and it wasn't balance but the tires were defective. The tread had a spot that every time it would hit the pavement it would give you a bump. If the tires are right they can be balanced. Mine are smooth as glass after 30,000 miles.

Most shops use the hub centric method, I asked them to use a 8 lug adapter but, they did not have one. I don't think the center hole of these dually wheels are true. The center hole is the problem I hope. I told the tire shop I wanted them balanced via the lugs not the center hole. I don't know if it will make a difference on the truck, but at least they will actually balance the tires. Every time they put the same wheel on the machine they need different weights, so I don't think the hubs or wheel center holes are worth a crap.

Now I understand. I would think that if you were off on the center hub hole that the wheel would bob up and down and you would be able to see it. This is a very good point that you describe and it warrants a concern.
