I am having an aurgument with a repair guy that has been in the business for about 35 years. I would like to compare my 95 5sp 4 x 4 with another one. If you have a vehicle like mine would you please email me at:

TLCVAC@SAFELINK. NET

Thanks, Tom/Idaho

It's about the operation of the brakes. I have about worn out the pages of my service manual and used up all of the suggestions posted here. I am not asking for suggestions, I would just like to compare mine with yours. I drive it very little (95,000 miles since Aug 95) so perhaps I'm being paranoid. Thanks

I have around 106000 miles on mine (low mileage also). In this time I have put one set of pads on her, rotors have not had much wear, rears will be due on next pad change. I am easy on the brakes, always have been. I will probably go with a brake upgrade when rotors are due, put slotted, new calipers, and change fluid. I did the pad change at 60,000, still have another 30,000 left approx.

A lot of wear on front pads comes from not adjusting rear drums. If you back up and tap on brakes, repeat several times, around once a month, you will find fronts will not have to take the whole load due to adjustment factors.

I have tried every type of pads, shoes, bigger cylinders, etc and little or no improvement. Next did the 03 AA rearend with discs, some improvement. I would like to have better. Haven't tried slotted discs yet.

Still looking...

I thought SSBC made a upgrade kit for our trucks, I can't find it now. It included four piston calipers, slotted rotors, stainless lines and pads. I know I saw the kit not long ago, it was pricey. I will keep looking...

I had a 95 3500 and never had an issue with brakes. Having said that I did replace the front pads at 80K miles because they were getting thin. I replaced them with original Moper pads.
