my trans will not shift from 2nd into 3rd unless I back off normal throttle and then it will give me a weak shift into 3rd . trans will shift correctly from on up through the gears and will also downshift correctly . fluid and fluid level are both good . any suggestions would be helpful . plus any trany shop in the Denver ,Co. area ( besides ATS ) had bad experience there . I am new to Colorado and my health does not permit me to do much mechanic wise anymore . Thanks for any help you can send my way so I won't look like a fool at a trany shop

Not to start a trans war but...

I'd call Goerend transmission in St Lucas, IA. Dave or one of his guys will be able to help you out. I just checked his site and see that they aren't selling complete transmissions anymore but they do have dealers around that should be able to build you what you want.

I've worked with Dave in the past and won't go anywhere else.

Are you sure it isn't 3rd to 4th? If it is, It's likely the throttle position sensor (TPS). Sorry, I have no advise on shops out that way, except for the shop that is not to be mentioned... LOL!

Dave did the transmission in my 95 Dodge Scotty Motor Home a few years ago. It acted as it gave the Cummins 150 more horsepower. They took my Motor Home in at 9 am and it was ready at 3:30 ready to go. I would not go anywhere else. Dave wanted to buy my Motor Home back then. Nice people. I know he does not do in home rebuilds any more. I called Dave a few months ago and he remember me. I was surprise.
