I am the proud owner of a new to me 97 Dodge 1 ton Dually club cab, 4 wheel drive had a new 5 speed in it, I still have my 07 too, guess I'm gonna try out the 12 valve for a while and let my 07 take a break

I had a 95 3500 if you would have tried to take it away from me you had a major fight on your hands
I put 750000 miles on her before I retired it... two 47rh transmissions... 7 brake jobs but never any motor work except for 3 fuel shutoff solenoids changed oil and serviced it every 10000 miles and never use oil between services
Best truck I've ever owned

97 with a 5 spd. You got the 215 hp/ 440 tq p7100 pump. Welcome to the club ( 215/440). I think you mean the club cab (no back doors but back seat). I don't think quads( suicide doors) came out until late 98. (but I have been wrong before.
Congratulations what ever way it is configured. You know what your ratio on back end is? Probably 4:10.

You are right, it is a club cab, I guess when I posted I was thinking of the 01 quad cab I used to have, and yes it is the 4:10 rear end,Thanks I changed it, Monte

12Vs were manufactured until 12/31/97. 1/1/98, 12Vs could no longer be manufactured because they didn't meet the new emissions specs that took effect that day.

The model-year break is "'1998.5". 1998 trucks were 12-valves, the "'98.5s" were 24-valves.
The Holy Grail truck is a 1998 12-valve because it has the new-for-'98 opening rear doors on the quad cab but still has the ultra-reliable 12-valve motor. They're hard to find.
