Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 1998 12 valve fuel filter specs

I know what type filter my truck takes, but can anyone tell me what the micron rating or mesh the primary filter is, and what is the micron rating on the secondary?

I googled the secondary. It's either 2 micron or 7 micron. Depending on which replacement is used.

I still cant find anything on the primary.

What do you mean primary filter? the one in the fuel heater? if so it is window screen size!!

Initial filtration is a very fine mesh screen in the bottom bowl of the fuel pre-heater module. It removed large “chunks” of rust, etc. The main filter is rated at 10 microns, available at Geno's Garage under Part Number FS19598 for 1997-9 engines and FS1253 for 1994-96 engines.

Joe, do you happen to know what mesh is used? 40? 80? Something else?

These are the numbers I recieved from Fleetguard technical support all in absolute microns:



FS1253 is 20 micron, 61 gph flow rate



The replacement FS19519 is 10 micron and 60 gph



This is for the '96 and older motor.



I didn't get anything on the '97-'98 motors. When ever I have questions on any of the fleetguard filters, I just call their tech support 800-223-4583. They are very friendly and they don't mind answering any questions.
