What do I need to change out the front wheel bearings on a 98 3500, straight axle, 2 wheel drive truck? It looks alot like a 4x4 from the knuckle out but I haven't ever messed with a 2wd truck before?
it's the 4wd stuff on the C&C i think the same vintage chevy 4wd is the same, mine weren't stuck to the knuckles but i have herd of some being virtually welded on so i antiseized everything, now is the time to get new rotors as theres no extra labor to do em
I was hoping it was that unitized bearing assembly. I'm going to go ahead and put new ones on both sides before I drive it up to Alaska in July. I don't mind running into problems, just not stuff like that in the middle of nowhere. I know darn good and well if a bearing went out on me it would be 200 miles from nothing and I would need every tool known to man to get it apart.
