Hello,

I'm parting out a 1998 12 valve cummins. I was wanting to know what a fair price to ask for a low mile nv 4500 trans with tranfer case. And it is a 4 wheel drive unit. Wanting to sell to replace my 47re that is going out in my 2002.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt

I would say if you are selling the clutch, master, slave, flywheel, bell housing, drive shaft,s, and every thing to do a auto to manual swap. I would say around $2000-$3000 thats what I have been seeing. I just desided to buy a rebuilt 47re out of anchorage,ak and it will be here today. I was looking at doing the auto to manual swap but it spends most of its time going from one job to the next with very little towing just the engine driven welder and tools in the service bed. Hope this helps alittle.

I think you are high on that price, but without more specifics, its hard to say. It also depends on where your market is. But a used clutch isn't worth much as a rule. The only info here is "low miles" which is very relative, especially for a Cummins. Some folks think 200k is "low miles" for the 'million mile motor'. But even 100k can be all she wrote for a clutch depending on who and how it was used.

And, as was already asked, exactly how complete is the package?

Used NV4500 is worth about $900 tops, imo. Block adapter $100. Bellhousing $100. T-case depends on which on it is, the DHD or DLD, but figure $400ish. Flywheel is maybe another $100.

A truly complete setup, from pedals (which he never mentioned) to t-case, in good condition, is worth about $2000 imo. Otherwise you would be better off finding an entire truck, taking what you want, and selling the rest.

All he actually asked about was the value of the NV4500 and the mystery t-case. I would say @ $1300 for those two items in good shape.

Thanks guys,

I have a nv4500 with a 4 wheel drive dld transfer case. Just removed it

from the truck. Splines all looked great and everything turned great without any slop in the drives.

Thanks,

Matt
