This 1998 Dodge RAM 2500HD Quad Cab SLT 2X4 pick up has one of the last 12 valve 5.9 liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six engines. It was manufactured in November of 1997. I found it in Lubbock, Texas in May of 1998 and flew there to buy it.
It has always been registered in Texas but I had it rustproofed by Ziebart and have maintained its lifetime warranty-to this day it is rust-free. My truck is finished in Intense Blue over Agate cloth upholstery, which is in excellent condition. I replaced the original 5 speed NV 4500 manual transmission with the current NV 5600 6 speed and married them with a South Bend clutch 1947-OKHD at 185,203 miles. Features include 16” Alcoa aluminum wheels with Michelin AGILIS CrossClimate tires(mounted 2K miles ago), Customer Preferred Package 29G, Trailer Tow Group, Auxiliary Rear Suspension Group, Travel Convenience Group, Anti-Spin Differential, Sliding Rear Window, remote keyless entry, 8-way power driver’s seat, front air dam, dealer-installed security system and replacement JVC radio.

The original 53 block was replaced by Cummins at 176,300 miles and the differential was rebuilt at 194,413 miles. A KDP kit was installed as well as a ATS 3 piece exhaust manifold. More recent repairs include new brake calipers at 263,113 miles, a new(not rebuilt) alternator and new batteries at 278,528 miles. In advance of this sale, I replaced the transmission input shaft seal. While the transmission was off, I replaced the rear main seal(which was fine) and well as the South Bend clutch kit-the original was only half worn: 1947-OK-HD ---- 13" Full Organic clutch kit w/ flywheel 425 hp 900 torque 20k towing capacity. I did an oil and filter change. as well.

The truck has an ARE commercial aluminum cap with large storage compartments, Linex bed liner, an AERO 55 gal replacement fuel tank, Rancho 9000 shocks, Power Vision power extending mirrors, Prime Loc fuel filter system,Warn UM2000 Powermate winch at the front of the bed with wired remote control, Magna Tech differential cover, pyrometer, boost and transmission temperature gauges, Escort radar detector, Jordan Ultima brake controller, Cobra CB radio, stainless steel side moldings. I used my truck to carry my motorcycle while towing an Airstream travel trailer, and am including the aluminum ramps I used.

In addition the sale includes the original tailgate, the original mirrors, original wheels and hub caps, replacements for the main running boards, the repair manual, and extensive service documentation. I’m also offering the many years of the Turbo Diesel Register I’ve saved.

My truck currently has 279,737 miles but the drivetrain has less than 100K. It has a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the owner’s name. I've reduced the price to $14,950.

How much $$$ you asking? Also you should enter this in the calendar contest as it looks that good! Last a picture of the interior with the all important question of if the driver seat is trashed or in good shape. Dash condition is also good to know via a picture.

Thanks for the comments. I've reduced the price to $14,950. I'll see if I can manage to add some interior photos. The truck has always been garaged, so he interior is in excellent shape except for some light fading on the top of the driver's side door inside panel. The seats are also in excellent condition.

Very nice truck. Two or three years ago you might have gotten $20K for it, but in today's climate, I think you're a bit optimistic. I may well be wrong. Good luck with the sale.

I guess we'll see about the pricing. Maybe I made a mistake correcting the oil leaks and replacing the clutch

I don't think you made a mistake here. The fact that you replaced the transmission with a NV5600 and a "1947-OK-HD ---- 13" Full Organic clutch kit w/ flywheel 425 hp 900 torque 20k towing capacity" will add value to the right buyer. That is an excellent combination for towing and someone out there will recognize that.

I wouldn't drop that price..., just my 2 cents.
