Within the last few months, my OVERDRIVE OFF switch began to get sluggish at changing from OVERDRIVE ON to OVERDRIVE OFF and vice-versa.

Now I cannot turn off overdrive at all.

I am looking for suggestions at what to do.

I do not detect any OTC codes.

My Transmission has been upgraded with as heavy duty components as possible, the latest being a triple disk torque converter. The truck is now over 200,000 miles.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks John, I did indeed find I could pop out the switch. I reinserted it and it appears to be working without the outer ring forced back on. I am on a trip and will replace the part when I get to my destination.

LP,

The overdrive switch can be easily popped out from the end of the gear selector lever by prying carefully in the groove around the base of the switch. It's a simple single-pole momentary on switch that you can test for proper operation using an Ohmmeter. A replacement switch can be purchased online for under $20.

Best regards,

John L.
