1999 Banks Ottomind on a 2002?

has anyone of you done this:?

take a Banks Ottomind of a 1999 and put it on a 2002. my old man wants more power to pull his boat. i figure i would put my Ottomind on his truck without the bigger exhaust hausing. would egt's get out of control on his stock Cummins with this mod? banks sells the MAP sensor adaptor for 86 bucks. i figure it would be just what he is looking for. thank for any opinions! i don't want to have a melt down on a new ram with 5500 miles on it ... ... james

If the map adapter is only $86 bucks, then I don't see why not. It will be just like adding a small fuel fueling box to any other rig. It will get a little on the hot egt side if his truck is an automatic with that HY/9cm turbo, but he should be able to control that as long as he has gauges.

Depends on which Ottomind...

They do fuel different. The base one (60hp) would be fine without gauges. The stinger-plus (100hp) might be pushing it without some other mods... turbo, exhaust, trans/clutch...
