A friend of mine is fixing up a 1990 CTD with an automatic. I have heard pros and cons of all the transmissions (getrag, 47RE, 5 speed, etc. ) but have heard very little if anything on the first gen. auto. What kind is it , how does it hold up, etc.
Dodge liked that trans alot and can be built to with stand a good bit. Give Rick a call at A & A transmission he's in IN 317-831-3066 great guy to deal with and stand's behind his prodcut!!!!!!! 110%
No, not all trans are 727. There's many different ones depending on the year and such. 727 is the only auto trans option for 1990. It might be a generic listing. I doubt they all share the same pan mounting.
All the pans are the same pattern, just different depths from the different models. 727's are the shallowest, and the 47/48RE's are the deepest. The Mag-hytec will work on the 1990 727.
Overall not a bad trans, just needs a much tighter converter to get the power out, especially if you turn up the power.
