17th might just work for me. I would love to learn how to tweak and tune my truck. Had it 11 years andI'm ichin to to be able to do this stuff!

Pastor,

Please forgive my insolence, but, could you find it in your heart to start a new thread on this subject?

That way, most of us commoners won't be confused and get lost in the forest of threads.

SHOW ME THE LIGHT, BIG DADDY!!

opps,, sorry, lost my mind again

hack, sneeze,,

note to self; get higher quality drugs, or replace diesel air freshener

The meeting on highway 5 idea is a good one. It looks like about 830 miles from here. Do you need a passport or any special paperwork?I could carry a barrel of diesel so Stomp won't run out between stations. Our fuel is so cheap down here anyway.

Oh yeah!!! I'll be there no matter what day! And yeah, I would suggest that it be a 2 day deal.

That way the guys who have to travel have some flexibility... and us hard core nuts can spend two days partying!!!:D

RonA

Didn't you read my last post I got 18. 34mpg. Well I guess that an extra barrel or two wont hurt.

CB

I guess we will have to teach the older crowd a lesson on how to party like a rock star. Well that is if I can talk my girlfriend out of tagging along. Anyone want to wish me luck.

Hey Bill, what the heck is a "ork"? Is that some kind of Canadian watch dog?

Ha ha snicker snicker

Oh geez, sometimes I kill myself

Stomp.

I read the thread about your mpg improvement. But I figure if 4 or 5 first gen trucks are making a 13hr drive, some of the young guys are gonna show off and pretty soon the old mileage goes back to what you were getting before. And that is where us old guys with the slow trucks come in handy. We always carry toolboxes and tape and brake fluid and fuel and all that boring old guy stuff.

RonA

RonA it looks to me like you have allot of the goodies on you pickup you even have a 12 extra valves. I might not even be the one showing off. Unless provoked that is. I am sure after I get one tank with bad mileage I will slow down and try to keep my foot out of it. So where are we going to meet? I am open to suggestions. Man this is going to be fun. So where in northern California do you live?

Geez Dave, Don't you know anything? "Ork" is the name of the planet Mork was from! :p

As for you killing yourself, don't ask what you're doing to us! :D

"... ... As for you killing yourself, don't ask what you're doing to us!... ... "

Ooooooo... ..... that's GOTTA hurt... . hey Dave... you just 'been "burned".....

Now... WHAT IN THE WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS IS THIS "US YOUNG GUYS" STUFF.....

Just remember one immutable law of nature... . in the end, old age and treachery will win out over youth and vigor... ... . besides, youth is wasted on the young anyway... :D:D: :p :p

Now, we're going to need someone to volunteer to bring the tranquilizer gun for CB, the duct tape for Dave, a stick for me ;):D

and so forth... . ok... LETS GIT IT ON!!!

BRING IT ON PASTOR. You don't know what you are getting into. Geritol you will need two aspirin and a prescription drug to keep up with us young ins. HA HA When is it so I can plan?

Stomp

Any time in July will work for me. I may have to head up a little early so I can take a good long nap before it starts. While the youngsters are "partying like rock stars" I plan on picking brains for fine tune info on my p7100.

RonA

If we do get together let us make a spot or two for all the folk headin up I5 around the southern part of oregon. Any free camping anyone knows about? 900 miles is a long way to go in one day - especially as I will (should) drive slow for better milage because my budget is REALLY tight. Nice to get some lowest-cost fuel spots charted too.

Don't worry about the fuel. At night we'll just suck a little out of stomps truck. He'll just think he's having a bad fuel day. Then we can top it off with some out of my barrel. No problem.

RonA

RonA, where are you located at? I see one from Eureka, one from Santa Rosa, I'm in Healdsburg. I plan on going up but we will probably take the trailer and go to our sons place in Ellensburg, WA. I'll make it a day trip from there to Piers, the wife won't be coming up with me. We will probably leave a couple of days before so we can break up the long drive a little.

Looking forward to meeting you local guys, hell of a note that we have to travel 800 plus miles to meet up!:)

Pastor Bob - Gotta have a dyno day with this! What do we need to do to get this set up?

I'm in Browns Valley which is halfway between Marysville and Grass Valley off highway 20. I would hit I 5 either at Willows or Red Bluff. Yahoo says it's 830 miles to PDR. That would be the farthest I have ever driven. I don't get out much. Hope I don't get halfway and chicken out.

RonA

You'll be too busy trying to keep up with Stomp!

The only 2 places traffic will be ugly is Portland and Seattle. Shouldn't be too bad of a drive other than that. I always try to schedule it so I miss most of the traffic. (Especially pulling the travel trailer) Last time up in Seattle, I hit it right at the peak hour headed north thru and out of Seattle.

Stomp, will you be cutting across to Redding or will you go up to Cresent City then to Grants Pass to get to I-5?

Stan

Stan

I think I will cut over to Redding to get to I 5. I think it is quicker than going up to Grants Pass.

To do list: buy locking gas cap.

Maybe thats the reason I don't get very good mileage someone siphoning my fuel yeah thats it.
