will the factory lift pump off my 160 horse cpl# 804 supply enough fuel for my vp44 or do i need a lift pump from a 12 valve that had a p7100? lemme know i swapping soon!
I thought i saw a post that a guy swapped the cam and put a mechanical lift pump and saw 30 psi??? His gauge only went to, but he could not make it move off 30.
My guess would be that the mechanical pump would be more than sufficient.
Who makes a camshaft fitting the needs of the ISB 24 Valve engine that also includes the cam lobe for the pump? I doubt it would be a Cummins Part # would it?
a local cam shop www.deltacam.com will weld a fuel pump eccentric onto my 24 valve cam. they are a reputable shop and know what they are doing i was just wondering because 2nd gen lift pumps are bigger than 1st gens... . still wonderin
Wonder if I could take an electric motor... install a lobe drive on it... them make a mount to couple it to a mech lift pump. Probably draw big amps to make it work.
Just thinking outside the box for a second... not trying to change what your doing. I think your project is great. I'm just thinking if you didn't wanna R/R the cam
