1st Gen Lockup Torque Converter?

Do the first gens have a lockup TC?



On my 1992, it shifts into 4th at anywhere from about 32mph up to 40, depending on conditions, but after that I don't feel anything remotely like the TC locking up.



Does that sound normal?

No lock ups on the first gen trucks from the factory. Would be nice for mileage.

Do you seem to have more power? Rodney just put in a different converter, can't remember which one, and he seems to like it.



Is the stall speed lower or what?

My DTT convertor and valve body, must of made more of a difference then I thought. The first part of June, when we went through Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and back, I guess it pulled the hills better then I thought. My brother-in-law and sister, has a 30' motorhome, that is lighter then my pickup and trailer, he has a Triton V-10 in it and he always pushes me up the hills. He has more horse power then I do. He asked me in Nevada, what I done to my truck. I asked him why he asked. He said that he had a hard time keeping up with me on the hills, where he never had a problem before. That is the only thing that was done to the truck.
