the filter came off like a "wooss" put it on. My "C" wrench moved it easily. Have found power steering fluid on everything, maybe the pump is leaking (at least it looks like it is).

Put the "flip" valve on the oil pan and yes, the plug was loose (V'd the valve for draining as it "felt" like it was a "scooch" too long). Used this style on the y2k for about a 100k and worked for me. Now the fuel filter was really tite (musta moved the gorilla to the fuel filter for mine). What surprised me more was the medium grey color of the fuel filter. Usually was this color when changed @ 15k not the 5k of the present change. Wish I could have made the 2500 change I was planning on but... was on the road too much.

In reading your post, I noticed that you said your power steering pump was leaking. I have noticed that mine is too. Not enough to leave a puddle, but enough to blow back all over the pump. Anyone else have this problem?

Check the power steering lines, it seems some guys have had lines rupture so that may be the source of your fluid.

There is a hose with a steel end that goes into the bottom of the pump. That is probably where your leak is. The part that goes into the pump has an o-ring on it. Some of them weren't machined right, (my opinion) the dealer replaced this hose and the problem was solved. I had to over tighten this fitting to stop the leak until the hose came in. Happened on my truck with less than 1000 miles on it.
