Competition hillsboro ohio pull

Just wanted to thank the members of the TDR for the priceless information that led to my first pull. Didn't win, didn't come close to winning, but didn't break anything, didn't embarass myself and had a lot of fun. I pulled in two classes. 6700lb Big Block/Modified Diesel and 7800lb of the same. Finished 8 out of 14 in the light class and 9 out of 11 in the heavy.

6700lb class I pulled in 3 low since it was my first ever. I can't explain how impressed I was with the clutch. Held it at 3k and let it out as per direction on this site. Hooked up nicely. The gear selection was to low. Went with 2 hi in the heavy class. Went close to the same distance but felt like it was bouncing so I kept letting off. Watched the video and there wasn't much bouncing so I probably could have kept on it.

A couple of serious diesels, Steve Stoltzfus and Frank P. , handful of 6. 0's one 3rd Gen. and some big blocks.

So the next question is where to go from here. EGT's were a lot lower than expected relative to daily driving. Need to finish some structural stuff: front weight bracket, driveshaft loops, and suspension blocks. Then to the power. Have no idea what direction to go here so suggestions are welcome.

Sleddy,

That's a decent hike for me. Let me see what I can do. Let's see, leave work at 3, 3 hour drive. Get there at 6-630 how long does it typically last? Say leave at 11, home by 230 and back to work at 7. Maybe. You need to come this way sometime!

Tom, you looked good in the vid, I need to give you a copy of it. You need to get rid of that muffler so we can hear you bad 12-valve purr down the track. I would also like to thank bloomy, for letting me use his big clevice of a hitch and for his knowledge. It was definatly fun and now I am hooked. I wish I would of done the street stock class. Running against 6-700 hp and overly experianced pullers isn't fun when it is your first time. Time for clutch and tires and I'll be set. I am going to Bloomsburg fair on October 1st is you wanna go Tom.

Sleddy, yep I have to work. Just changed over to a rotating off day schedule. I do get double time and a half though. I am still going to try and make it.

Thanks Harley, the first pull looked better I think. You did pretty good yourself. I don't mind losing to you, but I need to beat those lifted p-strokes next year! More power, more power, more power. I will have to think about Bloomsburg. I am getting married on Sept 10 and get back into to town on the 23. The fiancee was not happy  with me pulling at the grange. Thought I would break something. After the wedding is passed I hope that she loses some of the bridezilla and opens up to the sledpulling a little more. In the meantime I will say yes dear anything you want!!! Although she didn't flip when I suggested going out to Stoneboro

Thanks

Thomas
