Just got back from short camping trip up on the NC BlueRidge Parkway. Drove up Hwy. 226 out of Marion which is 4-5 miles of the most crooked road I care to traverse. It is real obvious that Dodge has made some improvements in the 48re. I will be adding an exhaust brake. The transmission does downshift to provide a little braking when you are on a descent. The Tow/haul/OD lockout works very good. I am impressed at the way it changed gears towing this load.

I weighed the rig at Marion fully fueled up and with RV maybe 50% loaded with the good stuff like food and drink and the total weight was 22,680 pounds. This truck can handle a bunch more... . For a year now I have been telling myself I needed a 4500/5500. No way... I think a 6 speed auto transmission might be the only reason I would ever need to trade. After driving my 2004. 5 with the TST. . I do think I need a little more HP.

The AirRide hitch is also a great option.

Looks good Dan. You didn't have the Trail-Air on your old Cedar Creek, did you. Do you have the centerpoint suspension on the Day Dreamer as well?

We're itching to get our trailer back out on the road. Work has killed most plans, though. Soon, I keep telling myself. Soon.

Great looking rig.

The first Cedar Creek did not have the AirRide. The new one does not have the CenterPoint on the axles. Thanks for the compliments. My work used to keep me to busy and it got me a cracked open chest from the worry. I have slowed down.

How do you like the Onan? Mine has the prep kit.
