Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 1st year hyd assist brakes???

what year was the first for hyd assist brakes?? was it 97 or 98? Has anyone installed a powersteering pump from these years on a 96?? thanks for the help.

I believe 1997 was the first year. Advantages is a bit more braking power but a lot more capacity, meaning more braking time on mountain grades. In these cases you can use up vacuum faster than your pump will make it.



Not sure about the hydro assist pump interchangeability. Vaughn

Yep, 97's had em, 96's didn't.
