Here I am

"2.5," I was at bar last night...

To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
No doubt the title line caught your attention. I was at a bar last night and the discussion was about the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty truck announcement at the North American Auto Show.

Did you realize that the new 400 horsepower/1000 torque rating of the 2019 truck is 2.5 times than that of the original 160/400 in the 1989 Dodge/Cummins Turbo Diesel?

Wow.

Keep reading and you can view some of the press materials that the folks at Ram have provided for us. Enjoy.

Wow, after 17 years, they caught up with my slightly modded '02... ;)

= = = = =
'02 HO Quad cab 2500 ETH-DEE, all extras except leather! Could these be the LAST of the "real diesels" from Dodge/Cummins...?
Edge comp, BHAF, Frantz oil/fuel filters, Don M 1.6 FI injectors, Rip's 4 inch exhaust - pillar mount boost/EGT and fuel pressure - coolant bypass filtration system - Walbro 392GSL fuel pump - DSS stainless intake tube - Amsoil/Donaldson 4510 aircleaner...
Icom 706 MKIIG "DC-to-daylight" Ham transceiver, Ameritron ALS-500 mobile amp... 40/20 meters... 7.175/14.182 mhz... '88 KIT 24 foot 5th wheel.

I will wait until they show their hand with the C&C intro. I'd love a 4500 with a hauler body, and 74 gallons OEM.

Am I missing something in the pictures or did they eliminate the volt meter and engine oil pressure gauges for some models/engine configs??

Shame about the crosshair grille :(

And it's 2.5 x as expensive but can tow...3.5 x what the original did. My SRW First Gen was 10,000...was a dually the same?

Can't wait.....already talking with the fleet guy at the dealer about ordering a 3500 Mega Cab, 4*4, Cummins Aisin, limited or Laramie in the new style. Max tow/haul while staying SRW.
I'm thinking the same thing. Either that or a 2500 Crew Cab. I'm coming from an 04 Quad Cab, so either will provide more interior space. I just need to decide how much payload/ towing capacity I really need. When we looked at toy haulers, the rear axle rating was always the limiting factor.

Too bad it is also less than half the fuel economy. In the chassis photo of the engine, I also see the EGR system is still in place. I have heard rumors it was not going to be used in the next generation?

Yes, the non-EGR appears to have been a rumor. Can you elaborate on your MPG comment?
