Here I am

"2.5," I was at bar last night...

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
No doubt the title line caught your attention. I was at a bar last night and the discussion was about the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty truck announcement at the North American Auto Show.

Did you realize that the new 400 horsepower/1000 torque rating of the 2019 truck is 2.5 times than that of the original 160/400 in the 1989 Dodge/Cummins Turbo Diesel?

Wow.

Keep reading and you can view some of the press materials that the folks at Ram have provided for us. Enjoy.

If Cummins figured out a way to delete EGR and DEF it would be BIG news as that is the route all diesels have gone currently, I think it was just a wishful thinking rumor. Maybe someday, but I have read zero about this in any diesel publications and it would be news!

Just read Issue #104, and, again, see the statement that this is not the same CP4 that GM and Ford use. If that is so, Cummins or Ram should explain HOW it is different. What is improved or revised? A different part number doesn't make it fundamentally different.

On the other hand, my old 2002 Dodge/Cummins, does nearly identical dyno numbers at the REAR WHEELS. Not all that much done for those numbers - and still the lower displacement, NO DEF - plus 27 mpg out on the road empty, 17 mpg towing our 24 ft. 5er...

Not too shabby for a $30K truck thats 17 years old...;):):p

Newer is sometimes better - but usually at a fearful price...

'02 HO Quad cab 2500 ETH-DEE, 6-speed manual, all extras except leather! Could these be the LAST of the "real diesels" from Dodge/Cummins...?

Edge comp, BHAF, Frantz oil/fuel filters, Don M 1.6 FI injectors, Rip's 4 inch exhaust - pillar mount boost/EGT and fuel pressure - coolant bypass filtration system - Walbro 392GSL fuel pump - DSS stainless intake tube - Amsoil/Donaldson 4510 air cleaner...
