Thoughts on VP44 handling ATF cut with RUG

My aunt's furnace went out and she is replacing the old oil burner with a new propane model. she has a tank with about 60 gallons of #2 heating oil left in it. I wonder if anyone has tried using this in a 12 valver? Can anyone think of any possible bad side effects or maybe even benefits of using #2 heating oil?

fuel

the only thing is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa free fuel upside, down side think i would filter it before using it.

It's probably not ULSD, so be careful that the rig you're using it in is not one of the newest ULSD-only rigs with particulate filters. It could be expensive if it plugged the filter.

Um, it's great. Just dont suck the crap off the bottom of the oil tank. Trust me you don't want that crap in your engine. And I would def filter it as you pump it out of the oil tank. Other than that my truck runs so much better on it. I ran out of my supply so I am back to reg diesel.

... also, it's probably dyed fuel with no road tax charged on it. Don't get caught running it if it is. I believe fines start at $10,000. 00.

Yup. It is a healthy fine. Most of us don't have anything to worry about but if you have any company lettering on your vehicle or an in bed tank, I wouldn't suggest running it.

Just make sure it's not dyed. Most of the time it's red, but I have seen it not dyed either. Home heating oil is usually just off road diesel FYI.

#2 is not as refined and has more BTU's per unit than #1. You will want to have an extra filter on hand at all times if you don't already. Usually we could get through the year on a single fuel finlter but one year we ran #2 and were constantly changing filters. Got both from the same place and stored it in the same tank.

Yeah, when I use to deliver "home heating oil" and then the same day deliver #2 diesel to a gas station or truck stop. I'd get it from the same refinery out of the same tank. So there is no difference between the two. None.

#1 is a 50/50 mix #2 diesel and kerosene.
