Here I am

2 in 1 guages, how do you like them?

How do you tell what size a turbo housing is

who's the cheapest??

I'm looking at guages to put in my truck and since I would like to keep the grab handle and I don't want guages mounted above my steering, I have limited myself to available options (1 guage). I was looking at the combo boost/egt guage and was wondering if people who had them, liked them. The fact it is only guage is nice but I noticed they look harder to tell the difference between, for example, 1200 and 1100 degrees on the egt portion or a couple pounds of boost on that guage.

I'm also open for other options if you wanna throw them out at me.

Thanks,

Pat

personal thing. I had Westach dual gauges on my 02. thought they were great. you learn to read the scales and in no time it becomes second nature.

Would you buy another 2 in 1 guage for your new truck?

Dhayden, it sounds like you have a couple of guages in your truck, is that right? Where did ya put em?

This is my second Westach dual guage. I have been satisfied with both sets. The one I have on my 03 is the pillar mount. Installation is easy and looks okay.

I have the 3 gauge pillar mount with Fuel press/Oil Temp... EGT/Boost... and transmission/rear differential.

Coasty aviator huh? I used to come down and fly our CH-47's out of overhaul from Corpus.

mount the EGT gauge where the cigarette lighter is, and mount the rest down by the drink holders. Works well for me, and doesn't bugger up the pillar.

I don't like my Westachs. I don't find them easy to read and they're too bright at night. I plan to replace them, but I am not decided on what to replace them with.

Just my opinion, YMMV. .

You do know that the brightness of the Westachs can be adjusted by bulb placement (depth in the case), right?

Love my Westachs! :D

The SPA's have a bunch of light level settings, at least 10. . maybe 15 I would have to go play with it more. All at the touch of a button you can adjust brightness, change color (green or red) set high and low pressures or temps which trigger a small red light when those limits are exceeded and stores your max readings which can be reset.

Works for me and has all the options I need and some I don't but they dont get in the way. I hate getting something else later and spendy double money on it, thats why I went with these to begin with. They had more than I needed with some room for me to grow into them when I changed my mind (because I always do) ;)

I went with the A pillar because it's just a glance over to see everything I need to, the "blind spot" is already there from the pillar itself, the gauges only make this slightly larger but I feel it's alot safer than looking down to the floor or seat or what have you. That's just me and if others are comfortable with it then thats fine for them.

I'll second the SPA's. I have three of them in my 01 pillar. Easy to read and the lighting is very adjustable. The pillar mount does make that blind spot a hair bigger but the only time I find it an issue at all is if I am leaning on the door armrest. If I am using the center console arm rest or sitting straight up no problem.

I have the SPA dual digital EGT and BOOST gage and I'm very pleased with it. I like the recall ability. It responds extremely quick to changes in temp/boost.

Yep. Do you have the black westachs? I have the white ones, and that makes the entire face very green, no matter what the brightness of the bulb.

Yep, mine are the black background with white numbers. I can see how the white-faced gauges might be awfully bright at night!

I had a Westach boost/pyro combo in my truck and I'll be honest-I hated it. Hard to read when at a glance-especially when the needles were horizontal. I switched to Auto Meter because I've used them exclusively in the past and trust there readings(except that electric fuel pressure gauge). They are very easy to read. Note: Nothing against Westach-I like there regular gauges just not thier dual setups.
