Has anyone installed a 2" coil spacer kit on an 03 2500 4wd.

Can you add just the spacers in the front and blocks in the rear or do you need shocks and a trac bar relocation bracket or adjustable trac bar????

The general ideal of the coil spring spacer is to level out the truck. Since they all sit asss high, this helps restore a more balanced look. You need not do anything to the rear of the vehicle, and the shocks up front are up to you. They do not have to be replaced, but while you are there, and since they are junk, might as well.

Although you don't need a track bar relocation bracket or adjustable bar, bear in mind that the axle slides toward the drivers side a bit (something like 0. 1 inch) for every inch of lift. For a "perfect" lift, you'd want the new trackbar. Ideally an adjustible-length bar with a drop bracket, to bring the bar parallel with the drag link (thereby maintaining stock geometry).

As far as I know, no one yet makes a track bar drop bracket. Not sure about the adjustable bar.

I disagree, several members have reported front shocks bottoming out after the 2 inch spacer install. I installed new shocks w/ the spacers, which BTW has greatly improved the ride (bilstein 5100 series). and for the track bar issue... . lets just say I am searching for an adjustable one NOW!!! go look at your track bar, notice #1 it is not adjustable hmmm, passenger side is connected to the axle, driver side is connected to the frame. now lift your truck by the frame and watch which way your axle shifts. another member reported approx . 11 shift per inch of lift, I think he was extremely close as I'm about 1/4 inch to the drivers side w/ 2 inch steel spacers. to be honest I'm a little worried about premature component wear elsewhere i. e. upper and lower control arm (driver side on all 4)bushings.

My 2 cents well spent, sword brandished and standing by!

I think you should only be using and adj. trackbar, or relocation bracket if you lower your bumpstops. If you adjust the trackbar and bottom out your axle won't be hitting on the bumpstops correctly.

I'm not sure how much off it will be, but it won't be like it is stock.

Also, if using a drop bracket it is likely you will throw your draglink and trackbar out of being parrallell which can cause bumpsteer if severe enough.

You are right about the shocks though. I have topped mine out several times, but 98% of the time I don't, only when going very fast over bumps and offroad, so they are a GOOD idea, but not Necessary.

Your shocks wouldn't BOTTOM out any more with spacers, but they would MAX out with spacers. :p

I just did the Skyjacker 2. 5" coils and I cheaped out on the shocks... . didn't change them out yet. The only time I Max mine out is when I take the big rolling speed bumps a little to fast, then I feel the passenger side shock over extend. There is only one problem with that and that is I go over these 3 big speed bumps on my way to work and on the way home. The way I figure it, if I go over them fast enough, it won't be too long and I will HAVE to replace them:D. The worst thing about it is that I cant get Bilsteins here at a very good price, no body carries them here in town and they want too much to bring them in. Was quoted $145 each without the boots, then they want $35 for the boots. I found I can get the Pro comps quite abit cheaper. Has anyone used the Pro comps, and do you like them?

I have a 2" leveling kit made by Revtek. I like it a lot. It is constructed from cast, not poly(plastic), so it should hold up. Funny 2nd Gen/ 3rd Gen use the same spacers. I paid $125.

The prices you were quoted are very high, there are several 4x4 mail order shops that can help you. Also go to the Bilstien web site, you can arm yourself with the right part numbers. Bilstien does not make a 5100 series that fits the front, they are all eye to eye mounts. What they sell, that everyone calls a 5100 is there OEM replacements. Good luck, and do a little searching on the web, you will save yourself much money. I have found I can atleast double my money, or spending power by wise shopping on the net. I do 96 % of all purchase's that way, it's about the only left to get what you want at a fair price. Also save on no Tax, and Usually shipping can be gotten for free.

Bilstein does make a 5100 with a stud on one end. I had part numbers for my 03, but they were not long enough so I never ordered them.

Shane at the West office is the person I talked too. He got rude after I told them the shocks were too short though , lol
