2" leveling kit on my 2011 3500

I installed a 2" leveling kit on my frontend. I used the factory shocks and put it all back together. Ive been getting a popping sound from the front end when I turn the wheel. Has anyone had problem with this kit before ??? Are the factory shocks long enough ??

I did the KORE 2" levelling kit on my 2004. 5 and used extended Bilstein shocks. The stock shocks will overextend when the drivetrain is at the extremes of extension and will self destruct. You will need extended shocks.

The stock shocks would not cause a popping sound when you turn the steering wheel...

Did you remove the track bar when you installed the lift? If so, it sound like the track bar mounting bolt(s) may be loose.

Yes the track bar will make a popping noise when turning if it moves in the mount when not tight enough. Trust me, I dealt with it.

They all tend to have a slight rake to them - with the rear end appearing higher than the front. It is better for fuel mileage - but doesn't look as nice. I added a 2" leveling kit to mine recently to buy me just a bit more clearance between the very back of my bed and the underside of my 5th wheel camper (since the pivot point is the rear axle).

I used suspention maxx on my 2006 3500 with a 2inch works great, everything is still stock, no need for anything other than the spacers

I ran a 2" for 3 years with stock shocks. Unless I went over a speedbump too fast the stock shocks were fine. They are still on the truck at almost 7 years old and 60K miles with a 2" level.

I recently dropped to a 1" level. . wow the ride got so much better!

I did get the Bilstein (longer) offroad shocks, for the front and rear at the same time. I also added rear air bags to bring me back to level while towing the 5th wheel. I didn't get the sway bar extentions, but may add that at some point. I also dropped in a Pacbrake and an SBC dual disc clutch so my bill was a bit scary!

For a daily driver a leveling kit is ok and looks good, however if you haul heavy it's not a good idea. Nothing looks or drives worse then a pickup with a low riding rear. When I haul heavy I always adjust my load to never go more then level front to rear. I do this with my gooseneck and bumper pull trailers. It looks, handles and rides good this way. Just my two cents

This is exactly why I went down from a 2" to a 1". I was having to put 30 psi in my airbags to keep level with 400lbs in the bed and 600lb of tongue weight. It also just never looked right when loaded, even with airbags to make it level.



The 1" lets me have about 10-15 psi in the bags for the same load (I keep them at 7 empty and it compresses to 10-15 based on the load, so no adjustment is required for most of my loads) and it just looks so much better empty and loaded. Not to mention the front rides an amazing amount better.
