Looking for a simple vacume switch I found an air switch, but it leaks the vacume. I looked in issue 29 page 10 and that is the switch I want. How do I get a hold of Mike Monell I searched members and I didn't see his name.
I purchased the solenoid from www.eaglecontrols.com it is a Numatics L01SA459B. This is a very small 12v solenoid that is used with a lot of the exhaust brakes.
Thanks for the info stick but I am looking for just a simple vacume switch not a 12v relay. I already have the vacume lines plumbed to the cigar ash tray.
Casey, here's what I used, BAV010 Pnuematic Switch $23. 95 from GTR Equipment Co. Anyone in Missoula who deals with pneumatic lift gates can get you one or an equivent.
This is what I used Casey. It is cheap, simple, and seems to work fine. Check it out at:http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=TV-2S They nail you on handling for one item, but I ordered 10 last time to keep the cost down. The ports are threaded 10-32. For the outlet on the end, I just threaded a piece of 3/16" brake line and slid the vacuum hose over that. You can get 90 degree fittings from them also for the side port. I put the vacuum source on the side port and it works fine. If someone was interested in using a switch to engage and disengage the front axle on the fly, I think you could use on of their MTV-4 valves. I just used the TV-2S valve, and turn the vacuum off before I shift into 4 low. It's been working great for me so far.
