Has anyone found any information on the 2 micron fuel filters that are being used on the pressure side of the pump. Are any of the filters rated to be used on the pressure side of the fuel pump. I have called several manufacturers and they tell me that most 2 micron are not effective with pressure.

Does anyone have any part # that have been tested on the pressure side of the fuel pump???

This gets into filtering with pressure and flow etc. What exactly do the manufacturers mean by pressure? Pressure side of pump vs vacuum side? Make sure filter is rated for internal combustion engine like the Fleetguards, Donaldsons, CAT, WIX etc. 2 microns that people are using between factory filter and CP. Search 2 micron filter and you should get a lot of info. It has been mentioned filter performance varies with pressure, I still don't know what that means.

Remember that the filter housing might be built to handle the pressure your asking it to... . just like some oil filters do..... However some of the filters don't have the ability to handle the pressure between the dirty side and the clean side when they get restricted... what is going to happen is the clean side will start to be in a vacuum, from the suction of the high pressure pump... and the dirty side will be at the pressure of your fuel pump... . This might be a combined difference of say 40 lbs and the element material most likely stand that and will tear, chunk out or fail in some way... allowing chucks of dirt and filter material down stream... .
