Does anyone know if there is a 2 micron fuel filter replacement for the stock oem 7 micron filter in our trucks? Perhaps this would improve on the filtering side of things especially for some of us who want to keep the fuel system otherwise stock until warranty is over. I have a 2 micron CAT filter on my '02 Golf TDI which is a marked improvement over the stock filter at 10 micron.

i dont think their is one available. i put the glacier 2 micron kit on mine. easy install. for 2 micron filters i think thats your only choice right now.

I just picked up a donaldson replacement filter which is supposed to be a 2 micron nominal filter for the stock cannister. I emailed donaldson today about it and its effiencies.

This was emailed to me from donaldson about their replacement filter:

The efficiency is 10 microns absolute (98. 67% efficient for contaminants

10 microns and larger on the first pass through the filter).

Kind of expensive for this micron rating. But the 7 micron filter from Fleetguard I believe is 7 micron nominal, someone correct me if I am wrong

2 micron will most likely be 7 micron absolute... gotta love that "nominal" number...

In another thread I read about the Donaldson being a 2 micron... I emailed them also and go the same answer... so I posted the same on the other thread... I've not found a filter that fits the canister that's 2 micron at this point.....

I'm personally not sure we need to go to the extent of the Glacier unit but would like more protection. . we have large tanks and filters in the bed of our trucks so on the next filter change we are looking for something between 2 - 5 but don't know if we will find it... .

A 2MK filter that would fit in the stock canister wouldn't flow enough fuel.

Get the GDP 2MK kit and be done with it, my 2 cents anyway.
