My friend, is telling me truck owners are improving their fuel millage by 2 or more miles per gallon, by removing their mufflers and just running straight pipe. Other than an increase in nose, are there other issues I should be concerned about? Will this really help increase fuel millage?

Thanks for you help Oo.

No but you would probably get a 1-to-2 mpg increase from bumping your timing to 16*

I know I saw an immediate 1. 5 mpg increase @ the pump from bumping my timing, but then again we checked mine and it had slipped down around 10* or 11* and factory is 13. 5

My nose didn't get any bigger..........

but after running around for a month or two without a muffler, I did start going deaf. I put a 4" muffler back on, didn't notice any loss in mpg's.
