I was wondering if my stock turbo has a "silencer ring" and if so, is there any advantage to removing it? Second, The rear axle weight rating on my truck is 6084 pounds and a total GVW of 8410. What type of rear axle do I have, Dana 60 or 70? My best friend looked at it and said it was a 60, but he also drives a Pukeandchoke Ford. Any help would greatly be appreciated. By the way, I still out pull the Ford

Hi again Jeremy,
I looked at my turbo a while back, after all the talk of silencer rings. I do not have one on mine and I don't think the 1st Gen trucks got one. All they do apparently is quiet the turbo down.
If I'm not mistaked our trucks came with a Dana 70 in the rear and a Dana 60 in front.
I stand ready to be corrected on this though.

No silencer ring on mine either. I think they started that on the HX35 in 94
All first gens with a cummins have a Dana 70 rear.
