Off Roading Baja 1000

Competition I've gotta stop doing this!!!

:D

Well I took the truck to the track tonight with the new mods. Since the last time I raced, i traded the hy35 for a DDHX40, the comp for a drag comp, and installed a fass system. Droped more than 3/4 sec off my e. t. 's, and picked up alomst 6mph. I'd say I'm pretty happy.

Special thanks to advanced diesel, for taking great care of me and installing my fass and turbo.

Now for the 12's...

Chris

Thanks everyone. I was in total disbelief when i got my time slip after my first run. I couldn't hardly believe it. But... after 7 runs, it definitely went 13. 20 - 13. 29 every time. I'm hoping the Mach 3's will put it in the 12's, at least on occasion. I don't understand how this truck runs so fast with the mods that are done, but I'm glad it does. :D

Hey Chris Thats awesome

Sounds like you got a fantastic HX40. Now Ive got an awesome set of Dons Mach 4s at a price you can't turn down call me. Your discount parts supplier and tester. Merv

Congrats on a great time!!

A couple of questions if I may:

How much boost are you launching at?

What size tires are you running?

Thanks!!

Merv,

Yeah, I couldn't be happier with the 40. Thanks again. I appreciate the offer on the 4's, but I'm going to go with something a little smaller... like the 3's. Can't believe I'm saying that.

Lone Ram,

I was launching at 14lbs boost. Tires are 265/75 16's, original michelin's with 49,500 miles. There pretty worn, and have lots of grip at the track. 60fts were between 1. 79 and 1. 82.

The next 2 to 3 tenths of a second

Will make you hemorrage cash. I predict you will probably blow the head gasket. Once you fix that, you will then want the bigger injectors. When you get the bigger injectors the HX40 wont be enough air. Merv :D

LMAO at Merv!! Isnt that the truth!!:D . because his running an HX40 he needs to keep the boost down anyway,so the head gasket should live. I think his boost needs to come down a few psi. With how well his truck runs i wouldn't be suprised to see a set of supermentals,or EDMs put him in the 12's:eek: .

LMAO at Merv and John! What are you guys tryin to say???

Really though, i know i'm to the point now where i'm treading on thin ice. I am getting tired of spending money on the truck... but, for some reason, i can't stop. I'm hoping John is right and somehow i can sneak into the 12's with the mach 3's. I'm going to try and keep the boost down around 40psi. hopefully that will save the head gasket. We'll see what happens.

Hey Chris& John

When you add more fuel your turbo will spool harder and faster which will increase boost especially on a turbo with the waste gate passage that is drilled and restricted, which is the case in your HX40,Chris. If you then get your waste gate working and turn down the boost you won't have air for the fuel you are adding, which makes it a waste to add more fuel. What a dilema,we create for ourselves. Merv
