I've got '97 2500 4wd. How can I tell if I have 2 or 4 wheel ABS. I had a person pull out in front of me the other day and I stabbed the brakes pretty hard and blew out a brake line. Thankfully there was nobody coming in the other lane.

Just look and see if the ABS pump is 1 or 3 circuit. On the "4" wheel ABS, the front wheels have sensors in the unit bearings.

Rear ABS is really 1 wheel so to speak, as it's only 1 sensor mounted on the diff. True 4 wheel ABS would have 4 sensors, one at each wheel.

If there is a wire going to the front hub between the brakedust shield and knuckle you have front abs. Not sure about the rear though
