One more post here while I am at it wasting time here at work...

Should I dismantle the Holley pump and try to remove the inlet screen? I do not remember if it looked extremely fine or not b4 I installed it. Is a super fine screen designed for gasoline a potential restriction point with diesel? I remember the screen at inlet of the 4601's appeared very much more fine than the otherwise very similar stock LP inlet screen.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys!

I will try running inlet of pump into a 5 gal diesel container and go down the line from VP back, checking flow at each location. The pump should be able to prime itself from a diesel container on the floor (~1. 5' vertical draw), right?

New 3/8" steel pickup tube is about 3/8" from bottom of tank as best I can tell. I will double check this to make sure it is not bottomed out or something like that. The pickup tube runs through the fuel module and out the bottom. I removed all the screens and all the supply side fuel module guts from the picture. Fuel return line goes to the Aux supply fitting and is dumped on the outside of the bucket.
You could elevate the supply tank,so it dosn't draw so high. Did you drill holes in the fuel module to increase the flow of fuel into the module container, because there is a check valve in the module that can restrict the flow of fuel from the tank into the module. This might explain why it starts and runs for a short while then quits sounds like fuel is not entering the module fast enough.

This might make you ill :>), but just to ease my mind the stock lift pump was changed out at 93K with one from NAPA (35K ago) and never a blimp. It is mystifying to see these problems with SOME trucks and others never have a problem with the lift pumps. Hope you solve the problem soon!! :)

Fixed!

Got a new Holley Blue pump today and that solved the FP issue. It is hard to believe this is the 4th pump I've had on within the last 500 miles. FP is lower than expected. 8-idle, 8-cruise, 7-WOT. The Holley Blue is rated 9psi @ 70 gallons per hour. Wonder where all that fuel is going... ? Can the relief/bypass valve stick open on a VP44 and limit FP?

Thanks to all for listening to me and for the helpful tips.
