1. What is the best way to get a good sample of oil from the motor for analysis?

2. Why don't my truck signatures show up when I post (or can I just not see them)? Thanks

Your Sig and Truck profiles are two different things. Go to "User controle panel" and look around there. The Sig will show up on the first line. The truck profile is on the second line. If you want your Truck info as your sig just copy and paste your truck info to your sig.

On pulling a sample, short of installing a sample cock in an external oil line, I would drive the truck until everything is up to normal operating temps. wipe the area around the oil drain plug clean, remove drain plug and let about a gallon or so of oil go. Then catch your sample. It is easy for me because I have the large mouth sample bottles. It is very important that if you are going to use a catch bottle that it is absolutely clean so as not to contaminate your sample.
