Yesterday I received a recall on the Powertrain

control modul(PCM) electrical connectors. (water

and resulting corrosion in a connector causes speed control and/or trans overdrive function to

become inop.

2nd recall is on transmission cooler line. (can transmit high pressure pulses when the vehicle

is operated at heavy loads. This may cause

the engine mounted cooler to crack and leak fluid.

The recall is on the 5. 9 CTD with 48re auto

transmissions. '03 models

Two mornings ago a new 3500 pulled up beside me,

man that thing overwhelmed mine. The guy had

chip advertisements on the back glass. My

guess would be that it was bombed out, it

was talking some more trash thru that big tail

pipe. I can now understand what some of you on

this website are talking about.

The transmission line/cooler recall is for '03 and '04 with the 48RE. . I got one for my '04 this week and will get it fixed next Saturday (love service on saturdays!!)

I got mine for the trans cooler line and my dealer couldnt have cared less. They said it would be a month before they could get to it. LITHIA DODGE, ***-5 STAR Dealer****GRANTS PASS OREGON. Im not impressed

Got both those myself. Any chance that the PCM could be updated to the programming that handles the exhaust brake functions?

Also, is the transmission line problem maybe why I feel a slight pulsation at WOT?
