2?s Max EGT & Coolant filters

I recently installed an EGT gage, what is the max safe pre-turbo egt, also what is the max egt for extended cruising? I would also like to install a coolant filter, what are the best places to tie this filter into the system? Thanks, I'm new to cummins and appreciate any advice you can give. Jeff

I believe with an '05 you can safely sustain 1350-1400 degrees, a bit more than the 305/555 motors. Some have even run higher temps without problems, but any more than the above and I'd be worried.
