2 wheel dr in low range conversion.....

In one of the older TRD's there was a conversion of 4x4 to 2wd in low range.
This would really help while towing the camper, and backing up on a grade.
Does anybody have a source for the "humphries electric over vacuum switch"?
I work in the industrial field, and none of my suppliers heard of them, and I did a search on the internet and came up with nothing.
I know there is a different way of doing this (a manifold valve I think?) but I like the electric over vac switch method.
Any input is appreciated.

I don't know about the electric switch, but I was interested in the small vacuum switch shown on Page 10 of the latest TDR magazine. The picture was sent in by Mike Monell. Does anyone know where to get one of those switches for 2WD low-range?

Patriot/Jason - You guys are both on the right track because the kit from BD is an electrically activated vacuum switch.
Use the seach and you will read lots of information on this subject. If your DIY (do it yourselfer) then you could build your own from one of the threads by MikeR (I think).

Jason, I think the switch you're interested in used to be advertised in the older TDR's. Look through one that's about a year old.
The one I want was never advertised, it was just a small picture by a reader writing in.

The Switch I used for the electric over vacum was a Humpries #V310-12. It works very fine. In fact used it again yesterday last night.

Let me try this again. I got mine from Andy's Supply in Boise, ID
1-800-435-3301 It is a Copper tubing & brass fitting supply house. Hope this helps.
$36. 29 + tax. They did have to order it in but had no trouble getting it.
