Just completed a round trip from Southern California (Rancho Cucamonga) to Oregon (La Grande) to pick up a 05 33. 5V Arctic Fox I just purchased in La Grande, OR. There has been some questions on the MPG after break-in period (20K) on the 6. 7 (07 C&C 6. 7 at 305 HP) that it would be better. The MPG was hand calculated and the over head is also given, I was traveling at the speed limit so not to confuse a preferred MPH. The trip to La Grande is at 10K GVW and the trip back was at 20,000 GCVW. The only time I did not travel the speed limit was construction or safe speeds for conditions, and then on the I-80 from Winnemucca NV to Carson NV I ran at 70 MPH and when passing at 75. The terrain varies, so you will have to rely on your own knowledge of that part of the country, of coarse I will answer questions if asked. So here are the numbers:

You are right in line with mine. I usually can count on 10+ a little while under a load on an average. Trailer weighs right at 10k empty and then up to a 15k payload. If I have a high heavy load it could be under 9, but most of the time around 10.

The truck will average around 16 when running bobtail. I usually try to run a couple of miles per hour below the speed limit regardless of running with the trailer or without.

My computer reads opposite from yours. Mine shows that it is getting better mileage than it really is.

Hi EB, the last accurate accounting of MPG on this truck was when I drove to Kansas from SoCal to have the bed installed and I reset the overhead every time I filled the tank. This time I left it alone and to my surprize it seemed to be accurate, + or - 1 MPG. But the trip to Kansas the overhead was close to hand calculated also. I don't worry too much about the accuracy, even hand calculated can be deceiving, unless you have the patients to fill the neck to were you can see the level of diesel in it every time. I have been able to pump as much as five gallons after the nozzle clicks off in the neck, but now I just pump an extra three or four gallons, depending on how sensitive the handle is.
