20,000th

I have been giving this a lot of thought, and since I signed on an joined the TDR around the 16,000+ time frame, Well I guess I will go ahead and make the sacrifice and be the 20,000th member in order to stop the suspense. Steve: I will be waiting patiently for my new jacket to arrive any day now. "Oh Yeah" I need a (Large) for the size. Oo.

A couple people have complained about this giveaway. Quite frankly I'm confused by this. It's been asked why them and not the existing members that have been here for a while? Very simply, we had a number of current members that asked if the TDR was going to give something away to the 20,000th member on the site. The idea was put forward and I thought it was a good idea for a promotion as well and went to Robin with it. They stepped up to the plate with a number of TDR related items for 3 people.



It has been asked what we are doing for the existing members? For you we are constantly working to improve the site and the magazine for the existing members. The subscription price has been the same since the magazine was originally released. The magazine started around 20-30 pages per issue and is now over 180 pages per issue. The website was also brought online with no additional cost to the members.



In the past year the following features have been added to the site:



New FAQ sections

Quick Reply in forums

Quick Quote in forums

Flashing PM notification in forums

TSB's Updated

Member/Non Member added to Classifieds

Member search by location

Changes to reader's rigs & featured rig on front page

Updated Travel Companion SW

Graphics redesign for entire site

Forum username and password integration between the forums and the travel companion, tsb's, reader's rigs, and chat room



Currently in the works is another graphics redesign, a couple of new forum features, and several other website features. In the past also, the TDR has given away a number of items both online and at TDR events to existing members. They support local events with giveaways, do mailings about events for chapters for free, etc. The last thing we wanted to come out of this was to have upset members because they weren't included in this particular promotion and thought they were unappreciated and apologize to any of you that feel that way.

I cant believe someone would complain about this. I think it is exciting to know that this web site and membership has grown to be this large. Maybe we could give out the new truck at 50,000 th member. (STEVE, WHAT YA THINK ?) What is even better is the quality of people here on the site. Yeah, there are a few bad apples in the cart but 99% are great people.

Thanks for doing what you do. I became a member a few thousand people ago and recently renewed because I think the website / magazine is a great value. I think 35. 00 is a fair and

reasonable price for all the goodies you get.



I do however like the idea of a truck giveaway. I would be willing to send an extra 2. 00 dollars for my entry to the first annual TDR

Truck Giveaway. 12,500 paid subscriptions X $2. 00 = 25 big ones.

A nice deposit for my dream truck.

the site is first class. i didn't join for give-aways. i joined for the interchange of valuable information and that i have gotten!!



if you want to give a few gifts for a memorable event - go for it.



BTW, where or how can we buy some more TDR stickers like the ones that came with the last magazine?

Steve: I hope you were not taking my post above as being a complainer, because I'm not complaining at all. It was merely a joke, I like to kid and joke around sometimes. Also for the record I have gotten some real good information from this site, and hope too in the future. Met a couple of TDR members in person also, really knowledgable and seem like real good people. We all kid around at work, an that's one reason I like my job so much, so don't take me to personal.
