20 inch wheels/tires

Has anyone ever thought about buying 20 inch wheels for truck and putting 18 wheeler tires such as 10. 00X20? Have a 2006 dodge 2500 4X4 and thought this would look pretty cool and would almost last for life of truck but probally be a little rough

i just put 18" rims with 35x12. 5-18 the front wheels rub but you will need a 2 '' kit to level out the front ,, also ordered the skyjacker 2" springs worked just fine was 180. 00 to the house from summit racing ,,, "2006 dodge mega cab"

i looked into 20's but was not happy with the load ratings on the rims and the tires, let alone the lack of a close to stock or even stock backspace.



my 265-70-19. 5's look like 20's to the untrained eye, and they are rated MUCH higher than any 20 inch rim i have looked at...

This thread is about big rig rims and tires not 35's on 18's. Besides you just bought the wrong size back spacing and offset. I ran my 35" Toyo MT's on my 18"Eagle 114 18X9. 5 with something near 6" BS and they fit no problem. No rubbing on either the fender or control arms.

Because I have mostly work trucks... I've been in contact with a steel wheel manufacture and am close to having a 19. 5" steel wheel for my trucks... . I've mentioned it before on this sight.....



We like the ability to run recaps on the rear of our F550 for 2 reasons... pricing is great and the mileage is about 2X's what we get with the 17" tires... I'm holding off buying tires until the new rims are here..... I just didn't want to spend 300 a wheel for a work truck..... We've been running the Michelin on the front and than the second time around we recap them into the tire design used by UPS... .

Mega cab duallies have different fenders than quad cab duallies. If I had a quad cab dually I'd swap it to the mega cab fenders looks cooler.

How much do they weigh compared to what was on it?



How much did those wheels and tires add to the stopping distance?



What about acceleration?



What about brake life?



How much harder will the rotational mass be on the axles and the rest of the running gear?



How tall are those tires?

BTW its not my truck, its DTR member D. Wiggs but these should be pretty acurate answers.

Nice truck !!! I'm inquiring about the silver truck that shows 35" Toyos on 18" rims..... Nice size combo !!!!! How do you like the set-up?? Is the picture shown without a lift ?? I looked in your "old readers rigs gallery", and see the same truck I think?? lifted . Is it the same truck ??? I like the proportioned size. What mpg do you get with 3:73 gears, ... . if that is what you have ?? would it be better to have 4:10 gears. I never tow or haul anything , and would love to jump up in tire size !!! Who's the guy in the wheelchair ???

I too am in a wheelchair..... paralyzed from waist down from motorcycle accident 5 1/2 years ago... ..... which brings up another question... . what is the height from ground to bottom of door opening(step shield area) ???

I don't want to get too high, that it's hard to get in... ... just want a BAD looking rig that's lifted a little with big tires and rims !!!!!!!!!!!!Oo.
