200, 78

Latest count is 200 Firefighters and 78 Police Officers missing/presumed dead in NYC. Everyone please say a prayer for their families and co-workers. And also pray for the others in NYC and DC that are still on the job helping everyone. What a tragedy.

i posted in another thread earlier that maybe the tears would come. they have--when i heard that possibly more than 200 firefighters are deceased. just heard about the firefighter that

told CBS that he had lost the rest of his company in the collapse.

he asked them to contact his wife, tell her he was ok and that he loved her.



yup, the tears can come real easy now...

Now they're saying 265 Firefighters including the chief and deputy chief. Imagine how many civilians will be among the final tally. The news just keeps getting worse.

Its a sad thing... the firefighters were just tryin' to help to injured and so on. Sad!

My brother is a firefighter. My great uncle designed some of the old time fire trucks and I am a fire suppression and detection engineer. I have a good friend in the fire protection engineering business and his office is in the WTC. He called this morning and said he was OK and in New Jersey at the time of the bombing. I was shaking like a leaf until he called me. Im speechless.....

weapons of mass disruption... they were targets

You have to understand that these emergency folks were targets.



The attack was timed to get the largest response from the emergency services and them to destroy as much of them as possible with the 2nd attack.



Just as one of these hijackers must have attacked a flight attendant to get the pilots to leave the flight deck to come to there aid (remember all this air rage crap) and thus leave the flight deck open for the dirty deed.



Just as 20 floors of WTC occupants got trapped at the top because some engineer taught these guys where to cause the most damage to the WTC and how to make it collapse when the steel failed from the airliner fuel fire.



The more you think about it, the more it becomes clear that a mastermind, way too much money, and a large support group was behind this attack.



Decency and rules of compasion get tossed aside when a group makes such plans.



So I have 2x the sorrow for the emergency teams that died yesterday. How long did some jerk know that he was going to kill so many good hardworking people?

Just think of the families; wives, children, husbands of the emergency people that lost their lives. I know that perhaps thousands of civilians died as well, but their families can grieve now. These firefighters and police still have a horrific job to do. They have lost hundreds of their extended "family" and still have to pick up the pieces.



Pray for them and when given the chance to help, do so. Give blood, money, time, and prayers. I hope that someone will set up an organization to assist these families. There are a lot of kids to raise, college to pay for, and lives to rebuild. We can all help. I would be willing to adopt a family to help financially or any other way I can. I know that NYC has these organizations to help and I know we will see a national effort to do so.
