My buddy ran his 24v out of fuel and can not get it started after ading fuel is there an easy way to prime the system and get it started he is on the side of the road curently. If I have to go and ge thim what if any tools will I need?

Thanks

I'm not sure about the 24v but my 12v has a manual prime pump near the fuel filter , pump untill you feel resistance and or hear a little squeal , then crack a couple injector lines and pump till they flow some fuel , then tighten , and crank , bring jumper cables , it can take some time and multible trys , I just remebered you said 24v , cycle key 4-6 [ to on , not to start ] times to get fuel moving then see if it starts a few cranks , if not cycle key to pump fuel again , and then to start .

I ran mine out and put about 5 gallons in the tank,

then turned the key to on (not start) a couple of times.

Then try to start it, if that doesn't work crack the line to the

1-3 and 6 injectors and hit the key until you see fuel come out.

tighten them backup and away you go.

Actually pretty easy once you do it.

It may have a pretty bad attitude for a minute until it gets all

the air out. smoke, knock, bang carry on... shake... .

All the fun stuff.

Like JFaughn said above... . cycling the key on and off a few times should be enough to get it primed up. That is if the lift pump is working correctly. If the lift pump is dead it could be a little more involved to get it running. When my lift pump died , I had to crack the injector lines to get it fired up... The VP44 will pull fuel through the dead lift pump, but its not advised to run it very long in that condition as low fuel pressure will certainly lead to an early injection pump death. Take a crescent wrench and or 9/16" , 5/8" , 11/16" combo wrenches to bleed the injector lines if needed.
