2000 & 5th Wheel Purchase

I have a Y2k 2500 24V that's stock (for now). We're heading to an RV show this weekend. Am I safe looking for 5th wheels that weigh around 9,000 lbs? Any advice/experience would be appreciated!

PMH - I pull a 37 foot, +/- 14. 5k 5th wheel, and my truck is pretty much stock. You should have no problems.

I have the same truck as yours with 5 speed. My trailer weighs 9000# loaded and tows easily.

I believe the truck is rated to pull 12,000 lb. I'm running that loaded with my trailer. Pulls very strong.

My brother has an exact match for your configuration and has the same trailer as mine. He is also very pleased with the towing performance.

I tow a 22 ft Alpenlite fifth wheel that weighs about 6000 loaded. Needless to say it hauls it ok. Y2K 6 speed
