I have a 2000 engine out of a wrecked truck and guy is buying it to go into a 2001 truck, I know there are some harness/ electronic issues that are unique to 01/02 trucks I know it has something to do with 01/02 not having a crank sensor for the vp but what is needed to ddo the swap?
If you have both engines sitting in front of you, just swap the engine harness and sensors. I think it could be an early or late 2000 and the only real difference I can think of is map sensor, turbo, and hp rating if it's an automatic truck.
from my research and answers the cam gear with tone ring has to be swapped and also gear housing, the cam position sensor location is just ever so slightly different and he will have to use his old engine harness and map sensor.
