I changed my oil about 2000 miles ago and the oil still looks relatively clean. It usually looks dirty after about 50 miles of driving. I don't know if it is the oil I used or the way I changed it. I used Rotella T synthetic and when I changed it I let the truck sit over night, then drained the oil. I filled the oil filter before installing it. My theory is that letting it sit over night is the difference, I know normal is to change it when it is warm so all of the junk will be in the oil pan, but hey it was warm when I parked it.

its probably the oil. heat dors suspend the particles in the iol so they can drain out. I think any way (im tired)

I think I have a little over 10k on my amsoil and it is still golden brown, and clear.
