Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2000 Ram 3500 CTD side cover gasket

I just bought A 2000 3500 and it has a bad oil leak from the side cover gasket.

On the drivers side of the block, I have never had to mess with one of these, and was wondering it there was any tricks to make the job easier,since it is buried, What all needs to come off to get to it. I have found some times it is easier to learn from someone elses experince, instead of trial and error. I checked All-Data and Mitchell on Demand and they dont have any info on it other than the gasket price. Thanks

I didn't do this myself-the dealer did way back when-but IIRC pretty much everything on the left side had to come off... I know they took the pump off. Doesn't look like a very fun job... .
