2000 RPM Vibration

What do you tell your service manager to convince him that your 2004 truck which has the 2000 RPM vibration - even though it isn't a 2003 - deserves the TSB?



Mine is going in Friday morning.

Ask them why they won't do it,they will get paid by Chrysler to do it,I had it done to my early 04 model... . And so have many other people,or call Chrysler and ask them which dealer in your area will do it.

I discussed this issue with my dealer and even gave them the TSB#. They contacted STAR (dealers service hotline) and was authorized by DC to install the revised hose.

For the most part the revised hose cured the vibration that was felt through the steering wheel and accelerator pedal. I do however have a vibe that is felt in the seat from time to time which is most likely either tire or drive shaft related.

Unfortunately this PS hose replacement, as per TSB 19-008-03 has had NO effect on lessening the vibrations I feel. I wish all of you with this problem the best of luck!

The weighted hose greatly reduces the buzz felt in the steering wheel and peddles but does nothing to reduce the vibration itself. It's a normal harmonic vibration of the Cummins. Isolating it from the cab is the best we can expect. I'm not real happy with the way the new hydroformed frame (tuning fork) resonates the vibrations through the cab. I wish I could have got the new motor in a 2002. But then again, with 24,000 miles on the motor, people in drive up windows are starting to ask me to shut it off so they can hear me. It's getting louder as the miles add up.

I brought the printout from dodgeram.org the dealer said no problem I will be taking it it tomorrow!

The only vibration I get is with the A/C on at 70 MPH. Not bad but it would be nice to lessen it. I would guess the updated PS hose makes no difference in that case.

I've always had the vibration between 65-75. It is worst at 70 and is amplified with the AC on. It does not hurt to get the TSB performed even though it did not work for me.

The best thing to do is get the service manager out on a nice smooth road and let him feel it for himself. The biggest problem is getting the techs to do more than take it around the block. Put a call into chrysler and they will most likely get trhis taken for you.

I finally convinced the service manager to go for a 30 mile drive with me and he immediatly noticed hte drine vibration in my truck.

Bighammer go to dodgeram.org and look at the TSB it says that the vibration is worse with the A/C on!!
