I have a set of 2001 2500 wheels for sale and a guy with a 2006 2500 is interested in them.
I told him his truck came with 17" wheels and the 16" won't fit, although the bolt pattern is the same the 16" wheels will hit his calipers. He thinks they'll work as he has 2" spacers....
I told him I'd connect up with a forum and find out.

Anyone know for sure. Although I'd love to get rid of the wheels I want the buyer to be pleased with them and be able to use them. He's hurting for money and needs wheels for his truck = presently sitting on 4 jack stands.

Thanks,
Joe Mc

They definitely will not fit without spacers, because of the brake calipers as you say. I don't think the 2" spacers is a good idea at all, it will affect steering and handling and increase strain on ball joints and hub bearings considerably...you certainly wouldn't want to haul any loads approaching GVWR.

Vaughn. Thanks for confirming. I told guy I was certain they wouldn’t fit due to caliper clearances but he said it had 2” spacers, which I told him I didn’t think was good either (as you mentioned) due to excess strain. BTW: He called me later last night to confirm he found they wouldn’t work. Thanks man, appreciated.
