Friend of mine has a 2001 3500 that is loosing power.
Sounds a lot like my 1995 stock 2500 before I changed the Fuel Bypass spring.
Does this stock 2001 24 valve 3500 have the same bypass as my Stock 1995 2500? RMcKinney from Kentucky

Always start with the basics. Fuel pressure, air filter condition, fuel filter condition, mileage on the truck, max boost, intercooler connectors, map sensor condition. What are these values on his truck?

Is the check engine light on? If there is no scan tool available, with the ignition off, turn the key off-on-off-on-off-on, and look at the odometer. It will flash P codes, P Done, the E codes, E Done
There will be a P1693, and then other codes (if any are present)

Thanks.
The only place i have to work on this truck is out side so this week end is out.House furnace is down and that is first.
I'll get them to check the codes and get back.
Thanks

My vote is fuel filter

I'm with David, fuel filter change first before trying anything else.

Also, fuel could be gelling a bit if you are anywhere North East of David :D.

You mention that your house furnace is out so I assume that you are wrestling with cold weather issues as many of us are right now. If you are seeing zero or below then I would add a dose of Power Service 911 in addition to the filter change.

Mike.
