Dave Fritz's web site shows 2001 5-speeds to have the HY35 and the HO's to have the HX35. I just looked at mine (2001 5-speed) and it has the HX35. The plate says so too. Is it just chance that I got a HX35? I am putting in 275 injectors and an Edge EZ. The HX35 is a better turbo if you are adding power isn't it?

My ETC 5-spd has the HX35 also. There were a bunch of threads on this. I remember reading into this, and this is what I recall the 2001's are equipped with (don't remember where I read this):

Auto - 9cm2 HY35

5-spd - 12cm2 HX35

6-spd - 10cm2 HX35

Anyone else heard this or care to correct me if I'm wrong?

o_mccarroll. The HO and the 5spped that i have seen both have the HX-35 with the 12CM2 housing on them.

I remember reading about this a year ago when I first got my 2001 5 speed. I read that for a short while Dodge but the smaller housing on the 3/4 ton trucks, but they switched back due to higher EGTs from the lack of O2. After reading it I did the same thing you did. Ran out and checked mine. I'd have to say I've been lucky in that I got the HX35 turbo and my injector pump did not fall into the serials number lots that were up for recall or should I say service bulletin. ;)

I am having a little trouble nailing down the parts for some of the ISB engines, particularly the 2000 and 2001 engines. Could some of you post (or email me) information about your trucks?

I need the following from a sampling of 1998-2001. 5 trucks:

- the CPL number (from the data plate on the side of the timing case)

- the engine serial number (from the data plate on the side of the timing case)

- model year

- transmission

Thank you for the help.

I have received one response so far - Thank you Chase TX.

To the rest of you 24 valve owners: open your hoods and send me some numbers!

Dave

Cobra,

I need to know what model year of your truck is, and which transmission it has.

From the engine data plate, I need the CPL and the engine serial number. The data plate is located on the driver side of the timing case (just in front of the injection pump). #ad

Thank you. Dave

(note: I will be offline for the next week, but please send me more numbers!)
